CNN NEWS 11/18

This CNN was very interesting. To me what stood out was the diving dog at the end. I have never seen such in my life! It was simply awesome. The dog out of nowhere dives down into a pool to get a ball. If I could I would teach my dog to do that for purposes such as fishing. I think that would be different and intriguing to others like seeing this. The government has nothing to do with this rather than the popularity and unique things going on in the world!

CNN NEWS 11/16

In this CNN News, it talks of sail boats and how that came about being called "sail" boats. Therefore, the reason is because it takes wind to create a sail to move in a sailboat. This sailboat that they mention is very old, having sailed 20 times around the world. Now stationed in California, closer to home, it sails around a course staying secure. I think that it is awesome to know that history still exist. The government itself has nothing to do with this kind of history.

CNN NEWS 11/14

The t-shirt contestant was extremely interesting and something that I haven't ever seen before! The guy had so many shirts on his body that he needed help to get them on. It was said that he had over 200+ shirts on and were continuously adding more. I think that this was pretty cool to see and was definitely entertaining to watch them shove these shirts on. The government has nothing to do with this activity/competition. This was just a fun thing to do in their town to hopefully break a record!

CNN News 11/9

Sugar drinks aka carbonated drinks are very popular! They are especially popular at schools. These drinks are very bad for students, but the bad part about it is at our school we provide diet coke, diet mellow yellow, diet everything! Believe it or not, diet drinks are worse for you. Personally, I think we should allow regular sodas such as sprite, coke, and mountain dew, etc. in our vending machines, keeping the students and teachers health most important, forgetting the amount of sugar provided in the drink itself. The government is so worried about a student staying healthy. If they want to worry about that, they need to worry about the diet drinks that these people are being provided being unhealthy and bad for your body!

CNN NEWS NOV 7

Oklahoma was awoken by an earthquake this morning. The earthquake was reported early this morning. There had been no deaths heard of so far everything seemed to be safe, but they are still doing further research. Earthquakes to me are different each time they occur, luckly this time it was small and somewhat safe. The government needs to keep there eye open for signs of an earthquake on its way. That way we can stay safe as Americans!

Daylight savings is something I'm sure we all look forward to at the beginning of November. I know that I do that's for sure. We get to sleep an extra hour! That's awesome when it comes to your precious sleep. Daylight savings used to help the farmers during the planting season. Now that still helps, but we want sleep, that's what's most important and the first thing that comes to mind when we say daylight savings. The government has nothing to do with this because it is something that has been going on since forever ago. Daylight savings is here, get your sleep in!

CNN NEWS- nov.2

A Halloween wedding, really? I personally think that is extremely weird and not romantic one bit! Dressing up as a creepy character with blood ozing out of your mouth is not how I would picture a bride. This not only is insane to do this, but also going to probably cause later problems within their marriage itself. The government needs to probably define a wedding, because I know this isnt right and is just plain weird.

-Maximizing the safety within our country protecting our country and lives.
4.       Explain why your value criterions would be a good mechanism for deciding between arguments.
My value criterion would be a good mechanism because without safety in our country other countries will have power over us and that's important that we keep that saftey and peace. This helps decide between the arguments.
Go to http://www.debate.org/debates/Resolved-States-ought-not-possess-nuclear-weapons./1/ and find the following within the debate for the affirmative (pro) and negative (con):
1.       Affirmative value- Peace
a.       Explanation of value- Nothing has ever been immoral about the term peace.
2.       Affirmative value criterion- Maxmizing the sense of safety.
a.       Explanation of value criterion- This will protect our country from the disasters going on in the world.
3.       Negative value-Rights
a.       Explanation of value- These weapons are protecting not only us but our rights as Americans.
4.       Negative value criterion-Minimizing the crimes and disasters
